2023 Hiroshima Business Forum for Global Peace
The forum is held for concerned parties to share anew the importance of achieving global peace, a prerequisite for undertaking business activities, through multifaceted discussions on ways to connect business and peacebuilding. The forum is also designed to provide the business community with opportunities to review its role in attaining a nuclear-free, peaceful world and explore ways to make specific contributions toward achieving this goal. This year’s meeting will be held on April 20 (both online and in person) when people all over the world will focus on Hiroshima as the venue of the G7 Summit. Please join us!

The “Online Peace Lecture: Thinking about Peace from Hiroshima” opens with a lecture on the reality of atomic bomb exposure , the state of global nuclear weapons, and the course of action toward peace. The lecturer will be Mr. Kiichi Fujiwara, an honorary professor at Tokyo University and the Institute for Future Initiatives. People who want to take actions for peace should not be reluctant to watch lectures!

Hiroshima Prefecture and the ICAN, a 2017 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, will hold the Hiroshima-ICAN Academy on Nuclear Weapons and Global Security 2022 (hereafter referred to as “the Academy”). Through this training program, we aim to nurture global leaders who can make concrete contributions toward a more peaceful and secure world.
