Professor Fujiwara lectured us the definition of “PEACE”. The war is seen from different perspectives throughout the history and people had various images and ideas about the war. At the end, he said that it is indispensable to share the history even the factmight discredit own country. The tragedy has to be share and inherited to the next generation.

On August 9th, Professor Fujiwara from Tokyo University gave us a lecture on the theme of “Nuclear weapons and peace from international perspective”. The lecture consisted of 3 main points; what condition we regard as peaceful, how peace has been argued, and how to promote peace from Hiroshima, and he told us the history and current situation about the topic, and also about many important and specific facts toward building a peaceful world. He pointed out that we should be flexible to understand and combine various point of views about peace and wars that comes from diverse positions, so that our points of view would be objective and ideal. At the end of the lecture, he defined Hiroshima’s role as to tell the experience of atomic bomb attack, to foster the future generation who takes the initiative of making the world peace, to seek for a way to achieve security without nuclear weapons, and to be the leader to try to achieve nuclear abolition and peace.
