Joint researchJoint Research with International Research Institutes
Hiroshima Prefecture jointly research with world leading international research institutes toward the abolition of nuclear weapons. Hiroshima Prefecture uses the output of the research at conferences it organizes with the aim of contributing to concrete process toward nuclear disarmament. Such occasions include, for example, the NPT Review Conference.
Hiroshima Prefecture signs the MOU with United Nations Institutes for Disarmament research (UNIDIR), Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) and conducts the joint researches. In 2021, University of Leicester in UK provides its academic expertise to the joint research project.
