Hiroshima for Global Peace

Memorial March for Peace

Gerd Kramer, German, living 28 years in Japan run a non political peace project for 5 years in Europe.

In 2020, he decided to make a memorial march through Western Japan, starting from near Nara and mostly marching all the way to Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture.

With his memorial march, he would like to remind mostly the younger generation of the importance of peace and this message comes from his heart as a soldier.

Here is his message.

No soldier wants to go to war,  movies often give a wrong image.
As much a firefighter try to avoid fires in his city, a soldier wants to avoid wars for his country.
Not only on my way to Hiroshima (around 300km marching), my efforts were appreciated by everyone I could meet and talk to, but also in the social media, I get a lot of positive reactions from around the world.
The photos and images I edit, that also younger people get interested in what I have to tell.
With the sad history Hiroshima has, it also has much respect from all the word, as it became a symbol not only for recovering but also a symbol for world peace.
My respect to the people of Hiroshima, a beautiful city by the ocean.
