Hiroshima symbolizes both the futility of war, the horrors of nuclear weapons and the power of resilience. Hiroshima is now a symbol of peace and sustainable development.

Since its founding, the United Nations has sought the global elimination of nuclear weapons. The current nuclear risks we face are unacceptable, and they are growing.
The total elimination of nuclear weapons remains the highest disarmament priority of the United Nations. Hiroshima inspires us to return to a common vision and path.

Every global citizen must engage in this mission – mayors, teachers, students, businesspersons, and most of all political leaders. Let us work together to build this momentum for Peace and make nuclear weapons history.
