Amb. Ogasawara of Delegation of Japan to Conference on Disarmament visited Hiroshima Prefectural Government
On February 4, His Excellency Ogasawara Ichiro, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, the Permanent Representative of Japan to the Conference on Disarmament paid a visit to the Hiroshima Prefectural Office for a courtesy call to Governor Yuzaki.
Amb. Ogasawara made a brief inaugural address to the Governor and introduced the efforts of the Government of Japan toward nuclear disarmament. The Governor explained a series of Hiroshima Prefecture’s education programs for peace including the Hiroshima Junior Forum, the Hiroshima – ICAN Academy, the Online Learning Program, and so forth, and stressed that we have to deliberate on the effectiveness of nuclear deterrence and a new security policy replacing the deterrence theory.
Amb. Ogasawara and Governor Yuzaki also confirmed to work together toward a world free from nuclear weapons from now on.
