It is hosting U.S. non-strategic nuclear weapons as part of NATO’s nuclear sharing policy. The Netherlands participated in the IPNDV.

The Netherlands acceded to the IAEA Additional Protocol, and has applied the integrated safeguards. It has actively engaged in non-proliferation activity, including the establishment of solid export control systems.

The Netherlands has ratified all nuclear security-related conventions and established a national implementation system for A/CPPNM. The Netherlands continues to promote HEU minimization They last hosted an IPPAS mission in 2012 and are one of the few countries that have made part of the IPPAS mission report publicly available. The Netherlands articipates in many INFCIRC initiatives and continues to contribute to the NSF.
