New Zealand was actively involved in the process of adopting the TPNW, and is a state party to it. It has also proactively advocated promotion of nuclear disarmament at various fora, including the UN General Assembly. New Zealand actively proposed nuclear risk reduction at the NPT RevCon. It has engaged in promoting the CTBT’s entry into force, and developing its verification systems.
