Hiroshima for Global Peace

The Hiroshima Report 2023:Recommendation

As a global arms race gains traction, a new generation is being exposed to the existential threat posed by nuclear weapons. It is a moral imperative to drive forward a new vision of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. The Hiroshima Report is a valuable contribution to global efforts towards the elimination of nuclear weapons —
the only solution to the nuclear threat; a means to advance human security; and the basis to re-direct critical resources towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

Achim Steiner

Administrator, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

The decision by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists to move the Doomsday Clock even closer to midnight this year is one of the many indicators of the precarious state of global nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. The Hiroshima Report 2023 makes for essential reading at this critical time. The Report is a necessary reminder that governments must undertake serious and urgent efforts to move the clock’s hands back, not forward.

Former Foreign Minister of Indonesia
