On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, the program participants visited Liceo Scientifico Statale Einstein and engaged in interaction with local high school students.

At the event, program participants Shizuku Yamashima and Himari Ideno gave presentations about the G7 Hiroshima Summit, the reality of the atomic bombing, and their own peace efforts.
Ms. Yamashima spoke about the Peace Puzzle, in which participants go to different peace-related sites in Hiroshima and collect the sites’ unique digital stamps.
Ms. Ideno shared her experience of working as a Peace Volunteer to guide visitors from overseas in Hiroshima around the Peace Memorial Park, as well as participating in a Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and exchanging views with UN officials.

The interaction event after the presentations featured a discussion on social issues faced by Japan and Italy. Taken up for discussion by Italy were violence against women and the slow progress of improvement in the treatment of immigrants. Various views were exchanged regarding how to approach these problems.
