Visit to the the Checkpoint Charlie Museum

On Saturday, December 2, 2023, the program participants visited the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. The museum is located at the former site of Checkpoint Charlie, set up in Berlin, Germany, divided into East and West after World War II. At the museum, visitors can learn about the history of the Berlin Wall.

The museum exhibits materials showing the circumstances leading to the construction of the Berlin Wall and other historical events. The materials include fake passports and cars actually used to cross the border. The comments from the program participants after the museum tour included the following: “I’m interested in what happened to people who attempted to cross the border. I’d like to research it myself” and “I was impressed by the many exhibits of actual items and photos.”
