SDGsとは?

What is SDGs? What is SDGs?

SDGs stands for Sustainable Development Goals. In September 2015, 17 Goals and 169 targets were adopted by world leaders at an UN Summit. All governments, companies and people in the society have a role to play in SDGs achievements, https://hiroshimaforpeace.com/en/sdgs-and-peace/about-sdgs/

Hiroshima Prefecture and SDGs

Hiroshima Prefecture was selected as “SDGs Future City" by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on June 15, 2018. Please see URLhttps://hiroshimaforpeace.com/en/sdgs-and-peace/miraitoshi/ for the detail including our main proposal.

What is “SDGs Future Cities”?

Initiatives by local authorities in order to achieve ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’ are meaningful to realize regional revitalization. As one measure, in June 2018, the Government of Japan selected 29 municipalities including Hiroshima Prefecture to become “SDGs Future Cities”.

Businesses Community

The project is based on a collection of case studies on specific SDGs initiatives and is intended to introduce on the website the initiatives of local companies that are actively working on the SDGs from two perspectives: that of young people and the companies themselves. In doing so, it aims to raise awareness of the SDGs and to promote and strengthen SDGs business.
