To build a sustainable future where no one will be left behind, the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs, were proclaimed at the United Nations summit in 2015, and efforts have been made worldwide to achieve the SDGs by 2030. All people in all countries—whether developed or developing—are required to work to achieve the SDGs based on multi-stakeholder partnerships. Hiroshima is of course expected to commit itself to such efforts.
This booklet is a collection of examples of various ongoing efforts and initiatives by our local enterprises to achieve the SDGs, compiled for the purpose of increasing public awareness about the SDGs and promoting or enhancing SDG-related businesses.
This special issue features local companies and organizations that are actively promoting the SDGs despite and amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
We hope this booklet will help many people both inside and outside Hiroshima Prefecture become more interested in the SDGs.
